My dog came in last night with 3 ticks, the weather is still very cold outside, is this early for ticks?
Answer:
Ticks start coming out of their winter habitat on February 12th each year. That movement is triggered by the position of the sun. They start looking for a blood supply immediately. We have been treating for ticks for several weeks already. Don’t worry if you haven’t cleared up an left over leaves. Its a good place for them to hang out and an even better place for us to kill them
